Beyond Questions - Blogging as Reflection
Our class is doing an excellent job with the blog project, including the students who are simply contributing comments. There is one thing that we need to work on, though. Blogging is not simply about asking questions and polling the readers. A blog is a place to publish your thoughts for the world to read and to share resources that you have found. You can share cool pictures, audio, and video. Other people come and comment on your writing simply because what you wrote somehow struck a chord with them. I realize many of the posts on THIS blog ask questions, and that’s because I’m also using this blog as a place to post assignments. See the posts “New Way of Searching” and “Checking In” as examples of posts sharing resources or thoughts.
The task of the day is creating posts that go deeper than just asking questions - our job as bloggers is to contribute information, not just collect from others. Now, because this IS an assignment, you’ll create your post as a comment to this post. Please ask questions as needed and feel free to ask for input before submitting.
Next time we’ll visit some blogs with good examples of what our posts could look like.

OH… 6th grade is kind of easy but it’s so-so
The other day when I got on the bus I expected to see my friend and sit by her. I accidentaly sat by someone I did not know. I felt so dumb!
Getting rid of your pet is so hard.
I had to get rid of my favorite dog. Her name was Kadie. It is very hard to get rid of her. She was the best dog ever. I wish I didnt have to get rid of her.
Last night I went to the BGC with my awsome friend and played ping pong all night.Then we went to my house and ate TONS of food. When he went home and checked our 6th grade blog
So the other day I was siting around when all the sudden my cat walked in and sat next to this glass tiger that we have. When she gets up she hisses at it and just sits there for a while. When all the sudden the glass tiger falls on her!! She got up and ran away!
My friend use to be really crazy but not any more because he got a PS2and goes to the main library a lot to play battle field downstair they have a xbox 360 and a wii and 2 PS2 that u can play guiter hero1 2 and 3 and he likes to go ice skatingand thats it.
OH MY GOSH!! I watched Greys Anatomy last night I was like totaly freaking out! A lot of exciting things went on in that hospital!!!!
But I mean what is up with Grey and Shepered? I wonder if they will get back together they probably will well I think they will. If you didn’t see is watch it online!!!! YOU HAVE TO!
New dog!!!!!
I just got a new dogs on Tuesday!! Her name is Mia, and is a three month old collie. She is so so cute! I can’t wait to see her again!!!
My brothers and sisters went with me to the Main Library and used the computer and play games. When we got home I went shopping with my mon and my sisters and my brothers all we got was clothes and new games.
Last night I went to basketball practice.It was fun!I shot a 3-pointer.I was very proud of myself.Basketball is my favorite sport out of:softball,soccer,and vollyball.
My dog is probably the lazest in the world. She is always falling of the bed and slipping on our hard wood floor . Today in the morning she fell of the bed and woke up everybody in the house. My dog is a clutz.
Oh my gosh! I cannot believe American Idol is about to start in four days! I am so excited. I absolutly love that show-It’s one one of my favorites. Last season was great and I was really happy Jordin Sparks won. I could not believe Sanjia got so far(I was happy when he got voted off). I am really looking forword to this season, and I know I won’t miss a thing!
I think my brother and I need to hurry up in the morning…we take so long and I like to get to school early without havin got walk through the cold!!!!
My favorite singers are Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. They are really good singers. I LOVE COUNTRY!
My little brother is the most annoying brother ever!!!! He fallows you around all day and he bugs you all day!! Today i n the morning he woke me up at 4:13 in the morning!!!
My school is great because all the teachers are wonderful! But some of the bad things about 6th grade are that school starts at 7:35am (too early) and sometimes we get homework in every subject. BUT sometimes we don’t get any homework! That is my school life!
In a couple of weeks it will be my birthday my parents said they will get me alot of webkinz
Oh my gosh last night after basketball practice I watched Greys Anatomy. It was the best episode ever. A lot happened in just that one episode. It was awesome! I don’t think McDreamy and Rose should be together. But that is just my opinion.
So the other night, I was at my dads house and I was trying to do my homework. I was really exhausted from school and I really didn’t want to play with my dog. So my sister went upsairs and my dad was on the phone and once again, I was stuck playing with my dog. I mean I really don’t mind it but I had alot of homework. So as usual, we played ad played. We played catch, and fetch, and tag. I was being really nice to him because I was taking my time to play with him, and out of the middle of nowhere he BIT ME!!
So I got really mad and he could tell so I was going to put him in his cage for a “TIME OUT” but I couldn’t catch him so to make a short story long, he basically ran and ran around the house for like an hour (NO JOKE) and ofcourse I was try to get him. He was very smart and he’d see me waiting for him and he would turn around and run the other way. So my main point is that I was trying to get him and I dived and slit my hand on the fireplace. Man, he is such a little brat!
My tree house is four stories, omg it’s so tall. It’s infested with squirrels every winter the squirrels come and make nests. In the summer I have so much fun camping in the top floor.
What do you get when you put textbooks and homework together?
School. For some reason teachers say school is fun. [NOT]
What’s the point when you have to get up so early the rooster hasn’t cockadoddle doodled yet and when you get home you have a ton of homework. Im staying up till 10:00 each night.

OMG! I’ve done something like that too, so your not alone! I’ve called teachers “Mom” or “Dad” or have been in a store and turned around and the person I said “Mom look” to is someone I don’t even know!
I agree with hj school does start WAY to early!!! and sometimes especially mondays we get to much homework.
You are lucky you have a sister [for Freye326] I have two brothers that pick on me every day think how I feel!
I like Carrie Underwood too! She is a very good singer. I’m glad she won American Idol.
OMG I have done the samething I have gone up to people in stores and called them my mom or dad and they turned around and it wasn’t them! I was probably bright red! So your not alone! I have done the same thing to my teachers! In 4th grade i just sat up and yelled “MOM!” When I needed help and everyone looked at me I flet so dumb!!!
That was so funny about the cat my cat acts just like that!

I Know what you mean about a cruel sister. My sister is mean to. She never shares with me. She never plays with me. She doesen’t do anything nice for me.
I know, my cat can be clumzy sometimes too. He runs into thins and other stuff.

When my brother John sometimes gets really hyper that he falls and trys to get up but runs around the house a lot and it makes me feel like I have a stupid brother.

I just can’t do it! I bearly get any sleep! I don’t fall asleep until 11:00, and get up at 6:00! My sisters get home earlyer than me, get to bed before me, and get more sleep than me. I also get more homework! It’s not fair!
I have done that same thing calling someone their not. I was in a store with my mom and I went over to look at something when she went to look at her clothes. After, I was done looking at something,(this was a long time a go I don’t remember.) I went over to go back and look at my mom’s clothes with her. But what I didn’t know was that wasn’t my mom, it was someone eles, someone I didn’t know, and i called her MOM!! It was so embarrassing.
My sister and, I slept over at my sister in law’s house and it is fun when we were watching cable and played games and who ever wins they get 5 dollers and continue on the game.
